Taunton Environmental Network:  TEN are holding an open Zoom meeting on 31st March starting at 7 pm.  There will be two speakers.

  • Ian Myers on “Water – it’s essential and pleasant but comes with problems, downpours and drought”.  Ian is an ex-Chairman of Quantock Eco and currently a member of its Executive Committee.  He is a Senior Technical Advisor at the Environment Agency specialising in Water Quality.  He has over 30 years experience in the field including a spell when he was responsible for the River Tone and West Somerset catchments and East and West Somerset pollution teams.
  • Catherine Cannon on “Feed our Future”.  Catherine has a Somerset dairy farming background.  She has travelled widely teaching English as a foreign language (Japan, Spain, Oman) and believes that minimising one’s meat and dairy consumption is the best thing one can do to reduce Humankind’s impact on the environment.  She works with councils encouraging them to lay the foundation for the next generation to have a more conscious relationship to food and the ecosystems on which we rely.

Quantock Eco AGM:  Our AGM will take place on Friday 23rd April.  It will as last year be an online AGM conducted solely via email.

We shall send out invitations to attend on or before 2nd April.

Please accept yours as soon as you can so that we can establish a quorum.  Once established we shall send those of you who wish to attend detailed procedures.

As last year it will be conducted in two phases.

  • Phase 1 will include information on the year’s activities, a request to change the Constitution, the election of a Scrutineer, a new Executive Committee, and a Chairman for the year 2021/2022.  You will be invited to vote on each of these.
  • In Phase 2 the results of voting will be presented.  It will also be an email opportunity for members to discuss any points arising from Phase 1, QE’s performance over the past year, and members’ ideas for the future.
